After many rumors, it has now officially been confirmed by ITV, that Ashley is going to be a contestant on this years UK "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here".

As Ashley goes into the jungle, she admits she would be over the moon if she met the man of her dreams under the stars. She thinks the British men are incredibly charming. “I love their accent,” she says. “British men are very charming and if the man of my dreams is in the jungle, then let it be! I am 100 per cent single.”

But the singer admits she is nervous about overcoming all the hurdles that will be thrown at her whilst she is on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! “I am so nervous about getting in the jungle and getting through some of the challenges,” she says. “And that is where my mind set is. This experience is going to test me in so many ways. It’s going to be very challenging for me and it’s going to take me out of my comfort zone.”

Admitting she loves her home comforts like her bed and her IPhone, Ashley adds: “Although the jungle is going to test me in so many ways, I was so excited when I got the invite. It’s going to be such a great experience.”

Being in the Australian jungle for possibly up to three weeks means, she'll be missing Thanksgiving: “It’s a big holiday and my family always get together for it. I am sad I am missing it." Ashley said she will miss her dog Cooper while being in the jungle the most.

Sleeping with strangers and eating bugs is not something Ashley is particularly looking forward to.
“I don’t like enclosed situations either and if I see a bug or rodent, my initial reaction is to run the other way. Also I am not a fan of the dark...I like to have a nightlife!” she reveals.

“One hundred per cent I love my bed. I love my products too. I know I am going to be stripped down and I won’t have those luxuries in the jungle – and so hopefully I will learn a lot about myself.”

She hopes she will be a team player around the campfire. “I won’t be the cook as I don’t cook very well,” says Ashley. “I like having a laugh and I am definitely not the kind of person who goes and starts a fight.”

As well as facing the trials, Ashley is also dreading surviving on rice and beans. “I am very plain when it comes to food and I like my chicken and vegetables,” she says. “Hunger is going to be hard. I don’t especially want to go into the jungle to lose weight as I am comfortable with the way I am. I like going to the gym at home and working out.”

To quell her boredom, Ashley plans to do some yoga. “I normally run around a lot and so I probably will do some yoga whilst I am in the jungle,” she says. “I plan to take some make-up as my luxury item if it comes down to feeling somewhat pretty in an ugly situation. I am going to be camping and this will make me feel a little bit better.”

As one of the former members of the Pussycat Dolls, Ashley is used to performing on stage in front of thousands of people. But she reckons being in the jungle will be far more nerve-wracking. Ashley says: “My second home is the stage and this will be way more difficult. But by going on I’m A Celebrity, I do hope I can let everyone know that I am still around. I haven’t been back in Britain since we toured as a band and it’s really exciting to be doing something for the UK again. I am in the middle of releasing some new music and a video.”

She still stays in regular touch with Kimberly Wyatt - who by the way would be her dream camper - and Melody Thornton from the Pussycat Dolls. “I know a lot about what is going on in their lives,” she says. “Nicole and I do email from time to time, but I haven’t spoken to her as much as some of the other girls.”

As to what her family think about Ashley going on I’m A Celebrity, she admits they gave a mixed reaction. She reveals: “My mum was very much of the view ‘right let’s help prepare you, it will be great’ whereas my dad was like ‘no way are you going to handle this!’ They know I am set in my ways.”

Not daring to even tempt fate by wondering if she could walk away and win the show, Ashley continues: “Of course winning would be the icing on the cake, but I just want to go in with an open mind. I hope people do like me…”

I'm A Celebrity starts this Sunday, November 11th at 9pm on ITV. Check back here on Sunday for the latest news, an online stream of the show and more!
